Union County, New Jersey ASA Hall of Fame Nomination Form

The ASA of Union County, New Jersey District II is proud to announce Mr. George Brokaw and Ms. Linda Lensch as the inaugural members of our Hall of Fame.

Ms. Linda Lensch's plaque reads: "ASA true blue... National Champion... Player, Coach, and Umpire... Always at the top of her game."

Mr. George Brokaw's plaque is inscribed: "For his lifetime love and heartfelt fire for the game of ASA softball... A premier Player, Coach, Umpire, and Friend of the game."

The ASA of Union County, New Jersey District II is presently accepting nominations for entry to the Hall of Fame.

If you or your organization wish to nominate a player, league director, umpire, manager, team, sponsor, sportswriter, administrator, organizer or other worthy of this honor, please fill out a nomination form
and forward it to the District Commissioner.
Nominations for the current year will be accepted through October 1.

ASA Hall of Fame

Criteria for Selection

Purpose: To honor those who have played a major role in the growth and development of ASA Softball in the County of Union in the State of New Jersey. In addition, to bring to the attention of the public the widespread value of, and interest in, the game of softball in Union County, New Jersey by honoring those who have made outstanding contributions to the game of ASA Softball in the County of Union in the State of New Jersey.

Nomination Requirements:

A. Categories

Players:
1. To be selected a person must have distinguished themselves through Union County, New Jersey ASA sanctioned league and ASA sanctioned championship play.
2. Must be retired for a minimum of two consecutive seasons in their respective divisions. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Selection Committee.
3. Must have played a minimum of ten seasons.

Meritorious Service

Commissioners/League Directors:
1. Must have been a Commissioner/League Director for at least ten years and made an outstanding contribution to New Jersey State ASA.

Umpires:
1. To be selected, a person must have umpired a minimum of ten years, and distinguished themselves by umpiring in ASA championship play.

Managers:
1. To be selected, a person must have managed a minimum of ten years and managed in ASA championship play.

Other:
1. This category will include individuals not eligible under another category who have made outstanding contributions over a minimum of ten seasons to Union County, New Jersey ASA Softball. This will include such people as teams, organizers, sponsors, sportswriters, administrators and others at the discretion of the Selection Committee.

B. Nomination Process
a. The ASA of Union County, New Jersey District II is presently accepting nominations for the Union County, New Jersey ASA Hall of Fame.
b. Nominations must be made by October 1 to be considered for the current year.
c. Nominations received after October 1 will be considered the following year.
d. No more than three individuals may be selected in the Player Category in a single year.
e. No more than two individuals may be selected in the Meritorious Service Categories in a single year.
f. Selection will be made by a committee of six people.
g. Two-thirds vote of the Selection Committee is needed for selection into the Union County, New Jersey ASA Hall of Fame.
h. Those selected for enshrinement will be acknowledged by the February immediately following selection.
i. Those selected for enshrinement will receive a plaque and other items at the discretion of the committee. Also, immediately following selection Inductees will have their name engraved in the Union County, New Jersey ASA Hall of Fame Plaque.
